Significance of the circle

For about 16 months I have been focused and painting a variety of circles.
After spending a summer canning and freezing golden plums and preserving other fruits on Vancouver Island,
I returned to Dallas and started to paint my circles. The round fruits had sunk into my subconscious
and so for the next several months I explored the circle shape. It became an exhilarating experience
as I discovered new color combinations and techniques. Every shape has significance
and the circle is one of the most powerful symbols in our universe. All the planets
and planetary system are circle shapes. It is a symbol of completeness, wholeness,
perfection, infinity and timelessness. In essence it is a symbol of God Himself.
